Used by the NSW Rural Fire Service, this R2 Personal Protection Blanket, featuring a composition of 15% Aramid and 85% Wool, was developed in conjunction with the NSW – Rural Fire Service. Meeting and exceeding the AS4824(int) standard, our blanket is used in trucks and vehicles operated by this Fire Authority. 

Aramid is known for its strength and heat resistance making it the perfect fire protection blanket during bush fire and ember attacks.

  • Aramid fibres are a class of heat-resistant and strong synthetic fibres (high density nylon). This fibre, which handles similarly to normal textile fibres, is characterized by its excellent resistance to heat, as it neither melts not ignites in normal levels of oxygen. It is used extensively in the production of protective apparel, air filtration, thermal and electrical insulation as well as a substitute for asbestos.
