Visit The Mill

Discover the Story of Australian Wool—Up Close

Just 90 minutes from Melbourne and 20 minutes from Ballarat,
Creswick Woollen Mills invites you to step into one of Victoria’s most charming
regional experiences. Proudly family-owned since 1947, the Mill tells the story
of natural fibres, Australian innovation, and timeless comfort.

While the mill itself is no longer operational, you can
explore its fascinating history through ‘A Very Fine Yarn’, our award-winning
interactive exhibit. You’ll walk through the journey of wool, alpaca, and other
natural fibres—from paddock, to processing, to the beautiful pieces you’ll find
in our store. It’s self-guided, hands-on, and free to explore every day.

Bringing the kids? Make it a full family day out. On
weekends and school holidays, step outside to our Creswick Farmyard to meet our
friendly alpacas and other farm animals.

Your little ones will love getting up close with these
gentle creatures, learning where fleece comes from, and hearing the stories
behind their names and personalities.

Before you leave, take time to browse our Mill Shop, where
you’ll find a unique range of natural fibre clothing, blankets, scarves, and
homewares.

Everything is thoughtfully crafted, beautifully warm, and
designed to last. Whether you’re looking for a special gift or a little luxury
for yourself, you’ll find it here.

Open daily from 10am-5pm

Planning a group visit? We’d love to welcome you. Book ahead
and we’ll arrange a guide to enhance your experience.

CELEBRATING CHRISTMAS IN JULY AT CRESWICK MILL

SCHOOL HOLIDAY PROGRAM

Join us at Creswick Woollen Mills as we embrace the magic of Christmas in July and this year, we’re extending the festivities right through the school holidays!

Bring the whole family for a heartwarming and educational experience, as we celebrate all things woolly and wonderful. Our Animal Farmyard Experience invites visitors to get up close and personal with our fun-loving alpacas, sheep, and a very cheeky goat. Kids and adults alike can learn about their cosy coats and the incredible journey of wool from paddock to product. Fun craft activities for kiddies.

Step into the Mill Museum, where history comes to life and the story of Australian wool is woven through every display. Don’t miss Live Music on Saturday 26th July 11am – 3pm, adding festive cheer to your Mill experience.

This winter, help us spread warmth where it's needed most. With our Creswick Annual Blanket Drive, every blanket sold in July means one is donated to someone in need, on your behalf. It’s the perfect way to give the gift of warmth this Winter. Take part in our gift giving tree.

There’s so much to see and do at Creswick Woollen Mills during the July school holidays, come along for the animals, stay for the memories, and be part of something truly meaningful.
