Contrary to what one might think, the term Baby Alpaca has nothing to do with the age of the animal, but simply names how thin and flexible the fibre is. The alpaca fibres are carefully divided in different categories dependent on their fineness. The finer and thinner the fibre, the higher the quality.

Despite their light weight, baby alpaca throws are warm because of their special air filled fibres. These Alpaca Throws are made from the fleece of Alpaca’s from the Andes Mountains in Peru, where the processing of the fibre is a craft passed down through generations.
