Wool Fire Blankets
Wool Fire Blanket
For every household and business across Australia, fire safety should be of major importance. The Country Fire Authority (CFA) in Victoria strongly recommends having a wool fire blanket for every occupant of a vehicle travelling in regional Victoria.
They serve as a personal protection blanket, one that is designed to protect the individual in a flash over situation.
A premium quality wool blanket from Creswick is more than just an ordinary woollen blanket. The natural fire-resistant properties of wool offer maximum protection against bush fires. A wool fire blanket should be a staple in your safety toolkit.
Features and Benefits of Wool Fire Blankets
When it comes to fire safety personal protection blankets, it’s worth noting that not all materials are created equal. With its natural fire-resistant qualities, wool stands out as a leader in the field. So, what sets wool fire blankets apart from synthetic alternatives in striving for fire safety at home? Here are just some of the benefits.
- Natural fire resistance: Wool's natural resistance to sparking makes it a highly worthy choice when you need to immediately respond to a fire emergency.
- Skin protection: Unlike many man-made fibres, wool will not melt or stick to your skin when it comes into contact with flames.
- Durability: A wool fire blanket will serve you well for many years with the right care and maintenance.
- Environmentally friendly: As a natural fibre, wool is biodegradable and sustainable.
Choosing the right fire blanket can make all the difference during unexpected crises, and wool certainly stands out as a top choice. Find the perfect personal protection blanket here at Creswick.

- Gentle cleaning: Should your wool blanket become soiled, gently hand washing it with a mild detergent can clean it up well. Remember to air dry, avoiding direct sunlight.
- Regular inspection: Periodically check your blanket for any wear or damage, ensuring it's always ready to serve its purpose.
- Proper storage: Store your personal protection blanket in a cool, dry place, ideally in its original packaging. Creswick recommends keeping it easily accessible should you need it unexpectedly, but to always keep it away from direct sources of heat.

Which fire blankets do you recommend for complete protection from an accidental terrible inescapable fire!? Eg. If escaping and get caught in a vehicle. Is there any such blanket. Terrifying. Just enquiring at this stage.
To be honest, no fire blanket can guarantee complete protection in every fire situation, especially in severe or fast-moving fires such as vehicle fires. Fire blankets are an emergency aid, not a fail-safe solution.
That said, 100% wool fire blankets are among the safest options available. Our CFA-endorsed wool fire blankets are naturally flame-resistant, do not melt or drip, and work by smothering flames and reducing heat exposure. They can provide valuable protection when escaping or in clothing-fire situations, helping to reduce injury while moving to safety.
Many customers keep one in their home or vehicle as an added safety measure.
